New Finished Basement

Well, it's mostly finished with just a couple of minor things left... handles on the closet doors, door stops, mirror in the weight room, and the mantle is being sanded down and re-stained. The first stain that they picked was awful! It was orange.... Hopefully they get it right the second time. :P If you want to see what it looked like when they first started demolition, click here.

It's not fully decorated at all, either. ;) I've just started to put up a couple pictures. I'm excited to display more of my own stuff in my house. I've got lots of wall space now too! :)

P.S. Excuse our second Christmas tree that is undecorated still. ;) And those double doors you see in that first picture are to our backyard... it's a walk-out basement. Currently Steve has been digging up that grass just out those doors so my brother-in-law, Ryan, can pour a patio tomorrow. I'll be posting pictures of Steve working on that soon too. ;)

I didn't take a picture that really shows where the weight room is. If you look at that first one that shows the stairs, there is a door just behind me that goes to the weight room. And here it is, just missing the mirror all along that wall where the treadmill is. We should get that in next week.

This is the hallway that goes down to the three bedrooms and bathroom. The first guest room and Steve's office as well as that red bathroom were already done... the rest of what you've seen and will see is all new.

This is the bathroom that is connected to this new bedroom (posted above). That door just to the right of the pale yellow dresser is the one that leads to the bathroom. Another door in the bathroom connects it to the kitchen/front room area too. Oh yeah, and that's a steam shower... Steve's favorite. ;)

I know, it's cluttered right now and needs to be cleaned up better again for the workers being down there, but we are so happy to have another living space! :) Kanyon especially enjoys watching movies down here with the surround sound. The Incredibles and Polar Express (the latest favorites) have never sounded better! ;)

I'll post pictures of the new furniture that is now upstairs after Thanksgiving because we're all decorated for Christmas. ;) The cream sectional you see here was originally upstairs on the main level...

Holy. Crap.

Steve always says we should stay with you when we come to visit Utah. I guess we'll take you up on that!

Actually, maybe we'll just move into your basement and raise a family of six...looks like there's enough room!

And since we might move in, Jared want to know how far you are from Alta...just planning ahead!

And hope your family enjoyed the treats as much as our family did. 10 pounds later...can't wait to see what the good 'ol doc says tomorrow when I step on the scale. Always fun!! I'll call you tomorrow.
