The Patio: Beginnings

Steve worked pretty hard to try and get some prep work done for the patio to be poured this weekend... but he and my sister's husband, Ryan, were still up until about 2:30am the night of Thanksgiving working out there to get it all done. It was FREEZING too.

Glad I'm not a guy. :D Although Mical and I weren't soundly sleeping in our warm beds... we were making hot chocolate and cooking pizza for them into the wee hours. ;)

He needed a break and said that he's glad he doesn't do manual labor for a living. ;)

I wish I could post a picture of the final stage: an awesome stamped concrete patio. But, it was covered with plastic and hay to keep it from freezing and cracking before I ever even saw it finished. :( (I was terribly busy out shopping that afternoon with my sister.) So, in 2 weeks when we can take that stuff off, I'll take a picture. Thanks to Ryan and my little brothers for all the hard work wheelbarrowing concrete! :)

By the way... yes, plastic and hay. I know, our backyard is NOT a pretty sight right now.

HAHA!! I love it! It's funny to see someone outside their element. I hope it turned out good. :)
