Happy 4th of July!

We took the kids to the pool today and met Jim and his family there. After they left, Ken's family showed up. It was fun to spend time with them and Kanyon and Maya haven't gotten to play much recently, so he enjoyed seeing her. Steve had the camera at the pool, so these are courtesy of him. :)

After 4 hours at the pool and some dinner, we sat out and lit some fireworks. Sad to say, I didn't get any good pictures. In fact, this was the ONLY shot I have. Pretty weak, but then again, our firework display was pretty weak too. ;)

Kanyon was not enjoying the ones that made loud noises... that pretty much included them all! He bawled if Steve or I were not holding him and when we were, this was the scene:

After Kanyon's repeated reactions to the fireworks, we only did half and are saving the rest for the 24th... maybe once he's turned 2 he'll become a little braver. :D

I have to include my pretty Scarlett today in her little dress. I'm so proud of these pictures because I shot them in full manual mode and they hardly needed any post-processing in photoshop... that's "camera talk" for woo hoo! I'm learning to use my camera and getting better! ;)

Scarlett is one of the most beautiful little girls I've ever seen (seriously)! You dress her up so cute and get the best pics. I can't wait to have a little girl now. :)

Sounds like we had similar experiences with the fireworks. Caden loved the lights, but got really scared when the fireworks started screaming. You'll have to check out my blog for my funny pics. :)

All of your pictures are SO cute! I have to ask...do you photoshop them all, or if not, what kind of camera do you have? Anyway, I love the style of your blog!

Your little girl is so beautiful! Great job on the photos. I love all the cute little girl dresses and bows. They are so fun.

It looks like you had a fun 4th, except for the scary fireworks ;) Our day was rained out (we're in Connecticut) so we stayed inside and watched a movie and had popcorn!

I can't believe how big Scarlett is getting! She has totally shed the "new baby" look. It will be fun to see you guys next weekend, even if it is only for a day. :(

Hey Meghan! I saw your comment! Thanks for saying hello! We need to get together! I need to get to know you better. Your blog is the coolest, I need to have you teach me how to use photoshop, it looks like fun! Your kids are gorgeous and so are you! Hope to see you soon!
