Melissa - I think these would be toffee "chips" by the time you got them in the mail! ;)
Bonnie - yes! Very easy recipe: 1 c sugar 1/4 c hot water 2 T light karo syrup (or honey works too) 1/2 lb. butter ...1 bag chocolate chips Nuts: almonds or walnuts (optional)
Melt butter in a pan. Add other ingredients (except for choco. chips and nuts) and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until light brown.
Test the toffee to see if it's done by dropping a little in a cup of cold water. If it hardens, it's ready. Keep cooking it if it stays squishy.
Once it's done, pour into a greased cookie sheet. When it hardens a little but is still hot, dump on chocolate chips and let them melt a little before spreading on top. Add the nuts (chopped) at this point so they'll stick to the melted chocolate.

Did you make this? And perhaps if so, do you have a recipe to share??!
