LASIK

So, after many long years of waiting... I finally found my window of opportunity where I'm not pregnant, nursing, or about to become pregnant to get this eye surgery. I'm SO happy that I did it and can't believe how immediate and painless it is. I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Here is a photo Steve took with his iPhone of the monitor he and Cohen were viewing during the procedure. That's my big ol' eyeball. :)
I had nothing that I would call "pain" afterwards... just a little irritation, like as if you had worn your contacts too long one day. I had to wear plastic shields and big sunglasses that first day over my eyes and then just the shields at night when sleeping for the following week. Lots and lots of prescription eye drops (steroids and antibiotics) each day and no makeup allowed for the following week, which was kind of nice actually! However, paired with my broken blood vessels in my eyes, it's a little scary. ;) Scarlett calls them my "bloody eyeballs". haha!
Aren't they pretty? Eek! I have to admit that I played hooky from church on Sunday because I wasn't about to show up minus makeup and some scary eyes. Really though, this picture doesn't really do it justice... they are scary and they take 2 weeks to get back to normal. Nice, it's only been one week.

Well worth it though since the day following surgery I was already 20/20 in my right eye and almost there in my left. Can't wait to hear what my vision is when I see my doc again on Thursday this week. :)

Highly recommended. Seriously. Life changing, for sure.

**because I've been asked a lot... my reg eye doc, Stephen Donaldson of Provo, preformed the surgery at TLC Vision Center in SLC.**

My husband just got his lasik surgery done almost 2 weeks ago and is sooooo happy! He goes in tomorrow to see what it is at now. The first morning he woke up and was so excited because he could actually see the alarm clock without it being all fuzzy! =)

Congratulations! That's amazing that you'll never have to wear glasses or contacts again. I have 2 pictures of you wearing glasses :) They might be the only ones in existence. Haha.
