My little helpers

I decided to pump the other day and try Cohen at the bottle. He seemed a bit confused at first, but got the hang of it pretty quickly. He didn't even seem to mind the pink bottle. :P I hadn't even realized until I looked at the pictures a few times that the pink wasn't quite right.

Kanyon was dying to help feed him and of course Scarlett was too. Kanyon did a great job and I could see some real pluses in pumping because I could get lots done while Kanyon helped me out there. He seemed to really enjoy it too and he's big enough that I didn't really worry about Cohen.
With Scarlett, however, it actually ended up being quite the struggle. She did not want any help whatsoever, but had a hard time holding the bottle just right, so there were a few tears in all the help I had. ;) She was so pleased with herself, however... it was sweet.

I'm sure lucky that my kids are such good helpers. Both jump at the chance to run and get a diaper or wipes for me. I took all 3 to my chiropractor appointment yesterday morning (yes, I know... crazy, but I didn't have much of a choice) and Kanyon and Scarlett were both so good to put Cohen's binky in whenever he started to fuss in his carseat.

They love him so much... and I love to see the relationships they have with each other.

Cohen had his 2 week appointment on Monday and is a whopping 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 19 3/4 inches long... hmm, pretty sure he hasn't shrunk since the hospital at 20 inches. ;) I had to laugh at that! He is growing perfectly and his jaundice is slowly going away. He's 30th percentile for weight and 25th percentile for length and head circumference. I wonder if he'll chunk up like Kanyon did...

I am glad to hear that the pumping is working out. :) Nice that he took right to the bottle. I had a couple that wouldn't touch it.

So cute. I was meaning to call you this week to see if you wanted the kids to come over, but never did. Anyway-if there is a day next week that you want them to come over- let me know. we don't have anything planned for the mornings and just have swimming at 3:30. so whatever day works for you. hope things are going well!

I remember when I had Kayleigh give Hayden his first bottle. I had her all propped up with him on the bobby. I went to the bathroom and came back to find Kayleigh's arm on the arm of the chair holding her head up, the bottle falling out of Hayden's mouth and his head falling into the corner of the chair. The look on Kayleigh's face told me that she never wanted to do it again!
