Although this time around it's been pretty miserable. Scarlett was a dream in her bili-suitcase. Remember this? Seriously... she never slept better than in that little thing. Cohen on the other hand, screams every second in there. I don't blame him but it was so frustrating because they almost didn't let us leave the hospital yesterday because his bilirubin level was so high, so I knew he should be under the lights. I gave up though and took a better night's sleep and a happy little guy over torture in the suitcase. I just couldn't bear it.
So, this morning I took him back to the hospital for another test and he was lots higher... :( I knew he would be, but I called his pediatrician and got home health to bring out the bili-bed and bili-blanket to replace the suitcase since I have heard better things about them. We have one more chance tonight to get his levels down or he'll be back in the hospital. Lucky for me, he seems to be a whole lot happier in this little bed.
And I'm relieved.

Hugs, Meghan. We've done both the blanket and the suitcase at home too. And the heel pricks prick at your heart too! Hope this little man responds well so he can stay at home.
hopin the blanket helps, he looks SO content there !!!! praying his levels are where they need to b
Congratulations! I'm glad everything went okay and that you guys are home. I hope you're feelin' good!
Way to go Meghan!! Congrats on new baby Cohen!!
I have to ask...why were you throwing up after?
And...why and how (time line) does an epidural wear off? Are the "boots" standard.
My wheels are turning...
I am so glad he likes that better!! Dang jaundice! I hope you get a better night sleep tonight!
Sweet little guy, get those levels down. G had to be on a biliblanket for a week, but at least with that cuddling was still possible. I'm so glad they brought you the bed instead of the suitcase.
Congratulations Meghan and Steve. Cohen is just beautiful...of course! We are so happy for you.
Love,
Aunt Janette and Uncle Brent
