We're Back!

We have been in Chicago for the last week and half and just got home Sunday. I have tons of pictures, but I'm still trying to go through them all. Just a little heads up that there will be many pictures posted soon... :) The picture above is a little sneak peek... we stayed most of the time at Steve's family's lake house and this is a picture of the lake at the tail end of a sunset.

Meghan, Hi. You don't know me, but I am Mical and Ryan's friend and you know my husband Justin...anywho. I believe I just got the same camera as you (Canon Rebel XTi) (I asked Mical a while ago, cause I loved your pictures) Anyways...do you mind me asking what lenses you have for your camera? We are looking into some and I was wondering which ones you had. Sorry to bug ya on here.
Thanks, Becky Earl

Becky - Hi! I've heard Mical talk about you before. :) Congrats on the camera! You're going to love it. I have 3 lenses plus the kit lens that came with my camera.

The kit lens that came with mine is the Canon 18-55mm. (not sure if you have the same because I have the XT, not the XTi... there isn't much difference at all) I don't use it ever anymore, but it was great for learning.

I also have the Sigma 18-50mm 1:2.8 EX Macro. This is more of a wide angle all purpose kind of lens.

I have the Canon 75-300mm 1:4-5.6. That one is a zoom lens and great for shooting things that are far away. I love it for boating, sporting events, or just taking pictures of your kids playing. It's nice to capture them in their element and you're far enough away that they don't really notice you. :) The last one is my favorite for portraits... and it's the cheapest! ;) It's the Canon 50mm 1:1.8. The only downfall is that you can't zoom in and out with it, so that takes some getting used to but it does takes crystal clear pictures.

I hope that helps some... now that I wrote a book! ;) If you have any other questions, I'm always happy to help!
