Half-way Over

We can't believe that a whole week has gone by already from our trip! These pictures are just from the last couple of days (not including today since I haven't had time to even get them off my camera yet!).

We played at Poi'Pu Beach one day. It has a nice enclosed area for kids and a playground there, although our kids didn't even make it to the playground that day. My little surfer girl was pulling Steve's boogie board around while Kanyon and Steve played in the background. Can you tell that I have been shooting most of these pictures from the comfort of my beach towel with my zoom lens? haha! Hey, whatever I can do to make it easier for my round self these days.
Another beach on the South side (Kekaha)... just about as far west as you can go before running into the Na Pali coast. We tried to get to this hidden beach over there, but the road was gated and closed off so we couldn't go. So sad! We meant to try and get there 2 years ago and never made it, but wish we had after hearing Steve's mom rave about it. Some nice men on bikes nearby told us that the road had been all washed out and that's why it was closed. :( Maybe another year when we come they'll have it open again.
The sand just stretched forever... and there was hardly anyone there. So nice.

The only way Kanyon played with the waves... fighting them with sand. ;)

Scarlett does not look amused with me in this one... but I promise she was having fun that day. ;) This little girl and her emotions... whew! Maybe it's a good thing I'm having another boy!
Cute sandy toes... "pink toes" at that, as Scarlett would say. She loves her toenails painted.
The only time Kanyon has braved the waves with Dad so far. He had a good time, if he could only remember it the next day. ;)
Steve enjoys the waves more than anyone...
Handsome hubby.
Scarlett's little footprint. Love those little toddler toes.
Kanyon has been learning to throw a frisbee this trip and was glad to have a deserted beach to practice on. Poi'Pu beach the day before was a little scary. He never hit someone, but got darn close a couple times!
So far we have tried 3 different shave ice places and we have to agree with the travel books that say "Jo Jo's" is the best on this island. Kanyon talks about it daily, so I'm thinking we'll have to return again. Too bad it's about a 20-25 minute drive from our condo! :(
We stripped Scarlett down orphan style to just her diaper and sandals and let her go for it. It was a good thing too because she was blue and green all over when she was finished.
I enjoyed mine too... love that I'm looking large and such without it being obvious that I'm good and pregnant. I've decided that I'll need to teach Steve about "flattering angles". ;)
I have found it funny that last time we were here I got SO many comments about my large pregnant self chasing an 18 mo old Kanyon and how busy I was going to be. I figured people were just trying to warn me or something. So far though, not many comments this trip and I'm wondering if everyone just assumes now that I'm just plain crazy and I'm in no need of advice at this point. ;) We shall see if they're right soon enough!

We hit up the north side of the island today, so I'll get some pictures up from that eventually. ;)

I still can't get over how beautiful it is there. Kanyon's face when he is fighting the waves with sand is so "super hero." Love it! And you're probably the most beautiful pregnant lady ever.

I didn't know you were having a boy. Congratulations. I can't believe you're having your 3rd. I feel like it wasn't that long ago when I saw you in the hospital after Kanyon was born!
I need your address so I can send you a wedding invitation. It won't be for a month or two still but I'm trying to collect addresses now. Email it to me at caburt@gmail.com. Thanks! I'm glad you guys had fun in Hawaii. Nothing like tropical weather during the winter :)
