Swim Lessons

(day 218)

I put the kids in private survival swim lessons after my friend Jen recommended a particular teacher. Because we have the boat and have spent a lot more time on water this summer, I wanted to feel more confident in my kids abilities involving water. So, we just started last week and already they are doing awesome! I'm seriously SO proud of Kanyon I could just cry. He is so cautious and nervous with water and always has been. Now, he readily sticks his face in the water and can hold his breath and even float on his back pretty good. I love to see his confidence level in dealing with water go up like it has. Here are some pictures from today at his lesson! (all shot with my point and shoot camera on auto... ;) Haven't been brave enough to bring the big guy there, so sorry about the quality of these ones!)

Don't you just love his "pink" goggles? They were requested by him today. ;) Hey, whatever will help him swim!

Scarlett has done so well too... it made me really nervous seeing her in the water and struggling a little bit to turn over to a floating position because she just looks so tiny in the water! I guess she is still tiny at not quite 16 mos yet. But, she has picked it up so fast. Here she is during her lesson today:

Pam was so excited to see Scarlett on her back, turn over face down on her own, and then flip right back to where the air was all by herself. I'm so proud of her! I'm going to take my video camera with me towards the end of their lessons and tape it. I'll share it on here once I do. :)

thats AWESOME i SO wish we had those closer, learning to swim is one thing BUT learning to 'save yourself' is FAR more important at this age. thats AWESOME they are doin SO good. WTG !!!

Thats amazing! So crazy to see little Scarlett doing that. If callie is still scared next summer, I think that I am going to have to bite the bullet and do this here.
